Dependency on God

For believers we should be dependent on God every day. We can't depend on ourselves. We have to depend solely on Him. He is the Source of our Strength. When God had Gideon "fight" the Moabites, there were only 300 men with Gideon. There were originally many more, but God had Gideon whittle it down to only 300 men. Then God did the miraculous. Gideon and the 300 men defeated the Moabites, and it was totally because of God. Gideon was dependent on God. Gideon realized that he was not able to defeat the Moabites, but God was able.

We should depend upon God and realize that being dependent on Him is completely healthy. Humanly it would be very unhealthy to be completely dependent on someone, but with our relationship with God we CAN and SHOULD be dependent, for He is our Creator. Don't rely on your own strength. Rely on God's strength.

God Can Do Anything

It is neat with God that He can do anything. He can work in anyone's life. No matter what has happened in a person's life, God can forgive. I am so thankful that God sent His Son Jesus to save us from our sins!

Jesus Cleans the Temple

Going to be speaking to the "Carpenter's Apprentice" tonight (elementary age boys). Will be talking about "Jesus Cleans the Temple," and how that applies. Jesus was upset about wrong things that were going on. Going to be mention in there that William Wilberforce was upset that slavery was going on in England--and he did something about it! When we see wrong things going on, we need to do something about it, and do what is right!

What the people were doing in the temple, selling animals for profit, was NOT how the temple was to be run. It was wrong. Jesus drove them out, for God's temple was supposed to be a "house of prayer." If God has place a burden on your heart for something going on that is wrong, don't be afraid to go out and make a stand for God. Do what is right.
